Cart-Type Hand-Cranked Lifting and Moving Lighting Tower

The manually operated portable light tower provides reliable broad area lighting. There are no pneumatic pumps, hydraulic pumps or external electrical sources required to operate the tower mast. The telescoping mast is raised via a simple geared winch mechanism and has a maximum height of 7 metres. It is therefore the ideal lighting solution for a construction site, emergency repair crew and/or some outdoor events where budget and simplicity are paramount.

This mobile lighting tower has up to 4 IP65-rated light sources, LED, Gas Discharge and Halogen lamps, is completely self contained with an onboard generator. The frame has manually operated stabilizer legs, big wheels for rough terrain and an optional electric assist drive to aid in moving the complete mobile light tower easily around the job site. An explosion proof lighting option is available for petroleum and confined space applications as well.

Buyer’s Guide

How to Configure Your Manual Light Tower

Three key decisions to get the best hand‑cranked mobile lighting solution for your site.

01

Lamp Selection & Count

Because LED lamps have the longest operation time for every gallon of fuel, they can be a good option for working overnight. Gas discharge provides the widest, warmest light color spectrum and is generally preferred for working on tasks that require great detail. Halogen lamps are an economical option for short-term work projects.

For balanced coverage and fuel usage you can use either 2 or 4 lamp heads combined together.

02

Mast Height & Material

A four-and-a-half meter high pole gives enough height for most of the work we’re doing and a six- or seven-meter pole will work for the larger areas as well. The standard material used to make these poles is carbon steel, which has a powder coat that helps to protect against weather conditions. For coastal, mining, or any other chemically aggressive environment where corrosion protection is very important you should choose SS304 stainless instead of carbon steel.

03

Generator & Site Mobility

The generator must be sized at least 120% of total lamp wattage. A 2000 W generator will have spare capacity for two 400 W LED lamps. If moved often over long distances or over unlevel ground, using the electric assist option reduces operator effort. A large capacity fuel tank allows all‑night operation without refueling.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the hand‑cranked mast compare to hydraulic or pneumatic systems?

The manual crank mechanism has the least total cost of ownership because it does not require a compressor, hydraulic oil or special maintenance. Although it raises a bit slower than other methods, it is highly dependable in remote areas that do not have an adequate service network.

Can I mix different lamp types on the same tower?

Yes, the 4-lamp configuration allows for mixed use of LED and gas discharge fixtures, enabling you to optimize both energy efficiency and quality of light in the various zones of the site. Each of the lamps is powered from a common 220V AC electric supply.

Is this mobile light tower suitable for highway towing?

No, this donk is an portable, hand – powered mobile device that can only be used for mobility within the boundary of the site. This model has not been rated for use on roads; The units that are rated to be towed on highways will have trailer type Light Towers.

What documentation is provided for export?

Every mobile light tower comes with a certificate of test from the manufacturer, a CE Declaration of Conformity, a manual in your chosen language, and material certificates for the mast and frame. Explosion proof versions will have all of the certification documents that are required by ATEX or IECEx.
